Groove Thangs
"Known around town as 'the baddest'...Groove Thangs are the most get-down soulful white cats around."
- BRIAN WARNER (Marilyn Manson!) 25th PARALLEL
"Their crypto-suburban facade belies a passion that is absolutely for real and a shock to behold...Groove Thangs may not be 'hip' by any current meaning of the word, but they are deeply in touch with something that is not square."
- FIRST DRAFT Magazine
Originating in 1984, this soulful funk-rock outfit built their rep as a powerful live act touring the Southeast in the early 90's. Part of the Miller Genuine Draft Band Network, they were signed briefly to Epic in 1989. Their only CD release, the award-winning Uppression on their own Neverglades label, is still in print. Down to annual appearances since 1992, bandleader/songwriter Bonefish Johnny and lead singer Down Pat celebrate 25 years of making music together in 2009 with the CD reissue of their classic cassette releases Hut Rock & Shack Music and Barbandismo from 1990, plus some new music among more vintage tracks on Loose Ends.
